The 5th of November was a big day for our school as it was the launch day of this years’ Build a Bank Competition. The Build a Bank challenge is a competition for Transition Year & 5th Year Students and is currently in its 12thyear.
A bank representative comes down to the school to pick a group of six people to manage a mini-bank within the school, they must get as many students as they can to open an account and lodge investments. Each School Bank will have six key personnel.
This year the team invited Kerry Footballer Colm “Gouch” Cooper to open the bank. He got a warm welcome to the school by all of the members of the bank and even a song from a few of the second year girls.
After he spoke with the junior school he used the opportunity to give a coaching lesson to a selected group of students. Everybody had a great time and thanked him for the experience.
“The team are working very hard for the competition and are hoping to get on well in the regional finals and progress.”-Jack Ryan.
