At the start of September, Ms. Clifford gave the first years a book to read for the ‘One Book One Community’ programme, “Skyhawk” by Gill Lewis. They choose this book as Ms. Clifford said it was an easy but interesting read.
The One Book One Community challenge is a reading program for first years and their families. They are asked to read a book at home with their parents and in school which encourages them to read more often.
It is organised by the JCSP and after four weeks of reading the school holds a special night to give a certificate and congratulate the first years on completing this project.
The first years thoroughly enjoyed participating in the program and Ms. Clifford said that she would definitely do it again next year, maybe even for both 1st and 2nd years
