At the start of the school year the TY class were given the opportunity to run their own business. In total there were four different teams taking part, each with a different idea in mind. One team sold t-shirts and jumpers another sold wristbands, one sold different types of pens and biros, and another sold wristbands to raise money for the “Bubblegum Club” charity.
On the 15th of January, a judge came into the school to decide what teams would be going through to the county final and what team would be staying behind. Each group had to have a display and a business report ready to present to the judge.
After every team’s display had been assessed, the judge had to choose three teams to go forward. After the marks were totalled, the judge decided that all four teams would be going through to the next round because the overall standard was so high. Following the good news the fifth and second years were invited into the room and told to have a look around. When the bell went for home time the students were very impressed with the groups displays.
Mr. Keating said “The day went very well and you could tell the judge was impressed.”
